We are looking for an enthusiastic lab technician (coatings) to join our team. In our lab, we perform a mix of
routine tests and customized tests. The main objective of the tests is to assess how materials behave under different conditions, thus avoiding
corrosion or material degradation in practice.
What does much of your day look like?
- You perform tests on coatings. Test plates are carefully prepared before they go into a test chamber for a certain duration. You monitor the test. You then carry out evaluations of the coatings (visual examination, adhesion tests, etc.).
- You also carry out corrosion tests by exposing coupons to chemicals at elevated temperatures. You monitor the progress of the test. The coupons are then removed from the test and examined for corrosion. You map out the corrosion which allows you to compare different materials.
What qualities do we consider important?
- Education: bachelor degree in chemistry; knowledge of coatings/corrosion/materials is a plus
- You work meticulously and report your measurement results with care
- You maintain an overview of your tasks and monitor efficiency in carrying them out
- You are communicative and consult when necessary
