Function description
We are looking for a corrosion engineer to reinforce the division Materials Engineering. As a corrosion engineer you will perform failure analyses as well as damage mechanism review and RBI projects.
When performing a failure analysis you go to the
limit to solve the failure case. You come to a correct estimation of the root
cause and formulation of advice for the future. For this purpose you perform
several investigations (e.g. metallographic study, SEM-EDX analysis, …) in the
lab and write a report for the customer. You come into contact with a large
variety of cases from various industrial sectors.
In a risk based inspection (RBI) project you
identify and list the damage mechanisms during the damage mechanism review
(DMR) of the project. The DMR yields essential information with regard to the
integrity of the installation. Based on the results of the DMR you determine
the risks associated to the assets of the installation and set up a detailed
inspection plan for the customer.
An RBI project is a team process during which our corrosion engineers enter into dialogue with the maintenance, process and inspection experts of the client. The goal is to gather all relevant information needed for the study.
