METALogic has been at the forefront of material degradation and corrosion control since 1991. Founded as a spin-off of the Department of Metallurgy and Applied Materials Science at KU Leuven, we are proud of our deep-rooted knowledge and expertise.

In our METALogic division, we offer a wide range of products and services specifically aimed at both understanding and combating material degradation, with a dedicated focus on corrosion. Together with our customers, our goal is to find sustainable and effective solutions to their most challenging problems.

Your role will be

As a Corrosion Engineer, you will be responsible for performing failure analyses and conducting damage mechanism reviews as part of risk-based inspection (RBI) projects.

Failure Analysis:

  • You are committed to solving the failure case by conducting thorough investigations to reach an accurate assessment of the root cause and providing future recommendations.
  • Perform various laboratory tests, such as metallographic examinations and SEM-EDX analyses, and compile comprehensive reports for the customer.
  • Engage with a wide variety of cases from different industrial sectors, making you a crucial link for our customers in preventing future damage cases.

Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) Projects:

  • Identify and catalog damage mechanisms during the Damage Mechanism Review (DMR) phase of the project.
  • Assess potential failure mechanisms within the plant, providing clients with essential knowledge about the integrity of the plant.
  • Determine risks for different parts of the plant and prepare detailed inspection plans for the client.

Our projects are always a team effort where our corrosion engineers collaborate with the client's maintenance, process, and inspection experts. The goal is to gather all relevant information needed for the study.

Who are we looking for

  • You have a Master's degree or equivalent experience, preferably in the field of materials, chemistry, chemical engineering, or related areas.
  • Knowledge and experience in corrosion, damage analysis, inspections, and RBI are a plus.
  • You possess sharp analytical insight and are able to understand complex problems. You approach issues with an open and critical mind, enabling you to formulate thorough and effective solutions.
  • You work meticulously and precisely, with attention to detail. Whether conducting laboratory research or preparing reports, you ensure your work is accurate and reliable.
  • You identify what needs to be done and tackle it with enthusiasm. You are proactive in identifying problems and proposing solutions.
  • You can clearly and concisely convey complex technical information, both orally and in writing. You communicate smoothly with colleagues and customers.
  • You have a good command of English, both spoken and written. Knowledge of Dutch and French is a plus.
